Welcome back to another Six Sentence Sunday. I’m still featuring snippets from the opening chapter of my newly released dystopian ebook, Girl Under Glass. These sentences continue Rachel’s confrontation with the injured alien soldier who appeared unexpectedly in her yard.

“Then you know you don’t belong.” I’d never seen an Ohnenran look bedraggled.
“May I put my arms down? Your dogs will shred me before I ever get close to you.” He added in a monotone, “Not that I’m any threat, ma’am.”
My palms were sweaty, but I didn’t dare wipe them.

Thanks for stopping by. Now I hope you’ll check out the official Six Sunday site to find more excellent six-sentence snippets.

Wonderful, Monica. My take? She’s hanging tough, but is wearing down. He’s just had enough, nearly given up, come what may. I can hardly wait to read this.
I love that she will not show weakness, especially to the likes of him. I’m a fan of all your writing. Incredible SIX!
Love the tension…and I wonder if he is a threat…but in another way? hmmm
You’re doing a super job of ‘showing’ here. Terrific stuff.
I don’t know… The fact that he said he’s no threat that way is suspicious to me. But I can be too cautious. I love the fact that this could go either way in brilliant fashion. You’ve set up a tense situation that pulls readers in.
Great tension!
Two comments. “your dogs-not you’re dogs” and your imagination is wonderful. Thanks.
Thank you and thank you! (I’ve only been looking at that typo for, oh, 18 months. o.O Those blasted things are so hard to spot in your own work!)
Loving this story! I’m really liking the alien’s personality as it’s revealed… There’s one typo though: You’re–>Your
Thanks and thanks! You and Charmaine caught something my brain refused to acknowledge for about 18 months.)
Why do I love a man that says Ma’am? Yummy. Find Kristal Here
Well, I think I would trust him. Am I being foolish…? You’ve created a fascinating world and I want to know more. I guess I’ll have to keep coming back each Sunday.
Wellll, you could buy the book to find out sooner. hint-hint-nudge-nudge-wink-wink ;D
Every time I read an excerpt, I’m pulled further and further into the story. Have my copy and can’t wait to read it!
Thanks! And I can’t wait for you to read it, Jessica. I’m really looking forward to seeing your feedback.
