Hiya Sixers! Well, fifteen Six Sentence Sunday posts later, we’re about to finish the opening confrontation from Girl Under Glass. Rachel must decide if she’s gonna shoot the alien soldier or help him. Last week he proved that he was unarmed.

I lowered the gun but didn’t put the safety back on. “Pearl?”
Behind me, the cottage door creaked. “Yes, Momma?”
“Set the cot by the hearth and get my medical bag. We’ve got a customer.”

I like the tension in this one, but I’m concerned about the gun not being on safety.

I haven’t been commenting right along, but I have been reading and I just love this story. So intriguing. And I believe I’ve told you once before, but I’m going to say it again. That is a BEAUTIFUL cover!

Have I mentioned how much I love this story? Even after a few weeks and other books read and finished, I still see this scene so clearly (as I do all the scenes in your book!)
I like that she’s compassionate but careful, and she’s demonstrating the strength she needs to survive.
