Famine #71: Fierce
Hello! I’ve been away from the blog for over a month. o.O Thought I’d jump onto the Weekend Writing Warriors hop this week with a post from Famine. Today’s picture and post feature eight-year-old Matilde, and she’s the first to speak in this early scene from the book.
“Gimme a knife.”
Bartholomew paused on the stairs. He turned and found that he was eye-to-eye with the girl. What he had thought was fear driving her to hide beneath her bed, he now saw to be a fierce determination to survive. “After you have had lessons in their use.”
She scowled and said, “That’s a no-good answer.”
REVIEW COPIES: If you’re interested in receiving an ebook (epub, mobi, or PDF) in exchange for an honest review of Famine, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please read the book description and note that this is a historical fantasy. It contains graphic violence, strong language, and sexual content and is intended for mature readers. Thanks!
